International Academy of Musical Theatre

The International Academy of Musical Theatre (IAMT) has officially moved into it’s new home at The Literary Institute in Egham High Street. It forms as part of the new initiative from the Trustees of The Literary Institute Cultural Community Hub, ‘@ the Lit’, a charity set up to create a new and exciting creative hub for Egham residents.

The IAMT is an award-winning and 5 star rated musical theatre academy, voted Best Performing Arts School 2021 by Lux Life. The academy offers a variety of classes and events including; West End Workshops, Full Scale Productions, Musical Theatre Academies, LAMDA Examinations, 1-2-1 Singing and Piano Lessons, Professional Children’s Agency, Tap, Ballet, Jazz and lots more.

Alongside their performing arts classes, The IAMT are working to reach out to more families in the community with their scholarship programmes which help fund fees, uniforms and exams. The funding is available to make performing arts accessible to everyone and is supported by their West End Patrons, Jodie Steele and Luke Bayer.

Principal, Megan Louise Crawley, saw a great need for a resource centre where children could access free wifi, printers, study books and work spaces. “We saw a huge amount of children struggle over the lockdowns, who did not have access to digital learning during the school closures, now with this incredible new venue and support from the local council we can offer children and young people a space to access digital learning and technology”

Their aim to deliver professional training that is dynamic and engaging, whilst building confidence and learning skills that will last a life time.
